I am trying to locate information on how early gold claims(circa 1860's)were registered by prospectors working the sands of the North Saskatchewan River. Primary area of interest being the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. I understand that after 1872, the RNWMP issued permits, but even details of this process seem unavailable. Also, any leads on U. S. miner's that worked the river.
