Non magnetic black sand has a SG of about 3.3; most placer is alloyed with silver, etc, and has a SG around 14-17.
If the black sand is magnetic, the magnetic particles will have SG around 5.
What king of drywasher? Bellows or constant air? Does the riffle tray have a dead air space? Maybe you are running to long before cleanup and packing riffles with blacksand???
Also, there may not be much gold; black sand is only an indicator.
